Goodbye Wix, Hello WordPress

It’s been a good run with the Wix platform. They keep getting better and better, but they also keep getting more and more expensive. Plus all of the other businesses under my brand are on WordPress, so it just makes more sense. How does this affect you, my customers… It doesnt. If you have bought from Hipsterdaddy in the past, the payment options and checkout process may look a little different. But for the most part, things will go on, business as usual.So, why bother posting about this change? Really, it’s just kind of part of testing a new site platform. My Blog Posts should automatically become FaceBook post, so I’m testing that. I also ordered a few shirts for myself to make sure the ordering process still works. But, I also know that some of the HipsterDaddy followers and starting their own online business and look to any good source to see how others do it.A few years ago when HipsterDaddy was being formed, we discovered how much more powerful and flexible Wix was than SquareSpace. So we thought we would test it out, and WOW, amazing. Simple integrations, payment portals, CRM, chat, so many tools, so much you can do with this system. But over the last few years, we’ve been better able to see what is needed. For a good on-line shop like ours, WordPress made more sense.So for the next couple weeks we’ll be working out the kinks and bumps that go along with every platform change.
